The BowFlex Results Series 52 is a good compact pair if you lift between 5 and 52.5 pounds a hand and want fast dial changes. Choose the PowerBlock Elite USA 90 instead if you expect to need more than 52.5 pounds, and check the model name before you buy, because BowFlex’s recalled Model 552 has a nearly identical name. This is desk research from the maker’s pages and the safety recall record; nobody here has lifted these.
Where to buy: BowFlex sells the Results Series 52 pair on its own site . On October 25, 2026, Amazon U.S. had no listing for the exact Results Series 52, so Amazon links for it on this page are labeled searches; the three alternatives below link to exact, in-stock Amazon listings.

For the BowFlex row, Amazon showed no listing that matched the exact Results Series 52 on October 25, 2026, so that link is a search: check the title, the pair contents and the seller before you buy, and skip any listing that does not say Results Series 52. The other three links go to exact listings checked as new and in stock the same day.
BowFlex Results Series 52
BowFlex sells it as a pair with two dials per dumbbell, storage trays and non-slip grips. Each dumbbell has 15 settings: 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, 20, 22.5, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 and 52.5 lb. The 2.5 lb steps run to 25 lb, then jump by 5 lb. BowFlex lists each dumbbell at 18.5 in long, 8 in wide and 9 in high, and includes a two-year parts warranty. BowFlex’s own page priced the pair at about $450 to $500 on October 22, 2026, and its offers change.
It keeps the same 18.5 in length at every setting, so check that span against your bench and your arms before you buy. Both dials must show the same number before you lift. The owner manual covers the inspection and adjustment routine; follow it. The ceiling is the limit: the maker lists no way to go past 52.5 lb.
The recall check
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission recall covers BowFlex Model 552 (52.5 lb) and Model 1090 (90 lb) adjustable dumbbells and lists the affected serial ranges. The hazard it names is that the weight plates can dislodge from the handle during use. Owners of affected units are told to stop using them and contact the maker for a refund or replacement.
The product on this page is the separately named Results Series 52. Similar names and the same weight range do not show that a listing, a used pair or an older unit is the current 52. BowFlex’s own page also shows a Results Series 552 option beside the 52, so read the full product name on the listing and the label on the base. If a seller cannot show the exact model and serial, skip the listing.
PowerBlock Elite USA 90
PowerBlock lists 5 to 90 lb a dumbbell. The base set goes from 5 to 50 lb, and Stage 2 and Stage 3 expansion kits take it to 70 and then 90 lb. The listed size is 16.25 x 6 x 6 in, shorter than the BowFlex, and the page lists a five-year limited warranty for residential use. Amazon’s listing for this pair says the Stage 1, 2 and 3 expansions are included.
REP QuickDraw
REP sells the QuickDraw in 30, 40, 50 and 60 lb pairs. The 30 lb tier covers 5 to 30 lb each. REP says the switches change weight in 10 lb steps and the 2.5 lb micro plates allow smaller steps. The 30 lb dumbbell is 12.2 in long and the cradle is 20.6 x 8.45 in. REP lists a lifetime warranty for the original buyer. It tops out at 60 lb.
SMRTFT NÜOBELL 80
SMRTFT lists 5 to 80 lb a dumbbell in sixteen 5 lb settings, a 17 x 7.5 x 7.5 in size and a 32 mm knurled handle. Every step is 5 lb, so there are no smaller steps. SMRTFT does not list a way to go above 80 lb.
How to choose
- List your working weights. If anything you do is near or above 52.5 lb a hand, skip the BowFlex.
- Check the smallest step you need. The BowFlex has 2.5 lb steps up to 25 lb; the NÜOBELL has none below 5 lb.
- Measure the length. The BowFlex is 18.5 in at every setting; the QuickDraw 30 lb dumbbell is 12.2 in but needs a 20.6 in cradle.
- Check the model name and the pair. Single units, older models and replacement parts show up in the same searches.
- Do not drop them. Adjustable dumbbells are not built for drops. Follow the manual.
